Au+ is looking for an experienced Transportation Engineer to join our golden team! The candidate must be self-motivated with a desire to work on a broad range of traffic engineering and transportation planning projects. This position will require an individual that is willing to perform a variety of tasks, working both independently and as part of a team.JOB description
The successful candidate’s most important qualifications include:- Bachelor of Science in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited University;
- 6+ years of progressive work experience;
- P.E. license in the State of Texas or ability to gain that license within 3 months;
- PTOE certification or ability to gain that certification with 12 months.
- TxDOT precertifications or ability to gain that precertification within 3 months;
- Working knowledge of Highway Capacity Software, VISSIM, SIDRA, Synchro, and AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation/Geopak is desired.
- Experience producing project deliverables independently;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Motivated to learn and work remotely;
- Interest in working on conventional and unconventional projects.
- Ability to interact with a variety of clients including both private and public entities, such as cities, counties, metropolitan organizations, TxDOT, etc.
- Perform work independently and exhibit initiative.
- Support Au+ Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects.
- Represent Au+ at client meetings and performing client coordination.
- Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects.
- Training to meet company safety standards.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Repeated motions (i.e.-typing, reaching, bending, lifting and carrying).
- Communication with other employees and clients.
- Most work is performed remotely in your home. Some trips, across Texas, to client offices and jobsites for observations may be required.
- Jobsite observations factors could include: walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, exposure to outdoor environments and extreme weather (heat and freezing temperatures), noise exposure, driving for extended periods of time, exposure to allergens (i.e. pollen, dust, cedar, sumac, poison ivy, etc.), exposure to construction and traffic work zones, and extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use.
- Extended use of electronic devices (i.e.-computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters and telephones).
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
